Suzan Prendergast is currently the Executive Director of the Bangor Humane Society; a role she has enjoyed for 17 years.With nearly three decades of experience in the non-profit sector in the BangorRegion, most notably with the American Red Cross, where she served during both the Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 crises, she is a decisive leader who thrives ina fast-paced environment, expertly and confidently delegating to large teams to achieve timely and successful results. During her time at BHS, Suzan has been responsible for a significant increase in live-release rates, as well as the completion of a multi-million-dollar Capital Improvement Campaign that engaged the community in advancing the mission and processes of the region’s premier adoption facility. A graduate of the University of Maine, she has served on a variety local boards and has been a member of Bangor Rotary for more than 20years.  In her free time, Suzan enjoys fly-fishing and spending time with her family, including two deeply loved GermanShepherds, Jasmine and Willow.
