Shannon Nachajko

Director - Catahoula Rescue of New England

Shannon L. Nachajko has lived in Maine since 2001, after attending college in Rochester, NY and working not only in the educational system, but in museums and is well versed in informal and experiential education. Having been born in New England, living for a short time was an opportunity to continue to learn, with a degree in Anthropology focusing on Archaeological, Osteological and Zooarchaeological studies, as well as History. In addition, she is in her third year as a veterinary technician student, a member and former Secretary of Knox County Animal Response Team; Board Member of the Humane Society for Shelter Pets, former Foster Coordinator of Catahoula Rescue Inc., Midwest and Foster Coordinator & Volunteer for Catahoula Rescue Inc., New England; former Vice President of Mountain Equine Rescue, has experience handling and managing many types of animals large and small experience in sustainability, grant writing, and job experience in finance, bookkeeping and education. Currently she is the Director of Catahoula Rescue of New England: Houlas & Heelers is dedicated to working with the shelters and dog owners of both the Catahoula Leopard Dogs and Australian Cattle Dogs of New England and the East Coast.
